Changu Ni Chema — “Change is Good” in Swahili — began in 2007 as a peer support group for People Living with HIV in Arujo Ward, Homa Bay. Founded by Dorothy Akinyi Juombo, it has grown into a formally registered CBO running four integrated programmes across Homa Bay County.
Today we work at the intersection of health, rights, livelihoods, and dignity — because community wellbeing cannot be separated into silos.

HIV Prevention & Care
Peer education, HIV testing, ART adherence support, and stigma reduction across all 9 sub-counties of Homa Bay County.
02 — Maternal Health
Reproductive Health & PMTCT
Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission services, maternal care, and reproductive health rights.
03 — Youth
Youth Empowerment
Life skills training, mentorship, and economic inclusion for young people aged 15–24 in Homa Bay.
04 — Livelihoods
Sustainable Agriculture
Farm business training, Village Savings & Loan Associations, and nutrition security for HIV-affected households.
